iPad Power FAQ
Compatibility
| 1. |
Will all Tekkeon batteries work with my iPad? |
| |
Certain models of myPower ALL and TekCharge batteries can be used to power and/or charge iPad. For a list of the compatible batteries go to: iPad Compatibility |
| 2. |
Can I use the Tekkeon batteries to power and/or charge other devices? |
| |
myPower ALL batteries are designed to power and/or charge mobile devices that require 19V
(MP3450/MP3450i R2/MP3750) or less --like laptops and professional photography equipment. Each myPower ALL battery also contains a 5V USB port for powering and/or charging iPad, mobile phones and other small portable devices.
The compatibility
obstacle for myPower ALL is the physical connection to
the power jack. Device manufacturers all use varying
types of jacks, so an adapter must be used to connect
the myPower ALL cable to the device.
The adapters that fit a majority of the jack types are
included with myPower ALL. However, if you cannot find
your specific model in the compatibility list, but see
similar models, it is likely that myPower ALL will work
with your device. You can assume that the model has not
been included in the compatibility list, as we have not
yet identified the adapter type on that specific device.
Tekkeon makes every effort to identify the adapter plug
requirements of new devices. However, due to the large
number of devices available, we are not able to identify
the adapter requirements for every device. |
| 3. |
Will myPower ALL batteries work
with my laptop? |
| |
MP3750 will power and/or
charge virtually all laptops that require
between 9.5 and 20V, and via a USB port for most
5V portable devices.
MP3450/MP3450i will power
and/or charge virtually all laptops
and most other portable devices that require 19V or
less. MP3450 should be used to charge larger notebooks
that require up to 20V/3.5A.
myPower ALL comes with adapters for most major brands
of laptop computers. Apple laptops and some Dell
laptops require adapters that are not included with
myPower ALL, but are available at the Tekkeon Store.
Please note that myPower ALL will not work with
Apple laptops with 17” screens, or MacBook
laptops with the proprietary MagSafe power adapters, unless the Apple laptop car charger is used in conjunction with Tekkeon's optional female car charger adapter .
For a list of compatible devices, go to www.tekkeon.com/myPoweralladapters.
Note: You can optimize the use of myPower ALL MP3750/MP3450/MP3450i with your notebook computer by setting
the voltage on myPower ALL to less than the required
voltage. This prevents myPower ALL from charging the
device, thus extending the amount of time you can use
myPower ALL to power your notebook. |

charged before use. |

Do Tekkeon rechargeable batteries come with a power adapter? |
| |

Using a
Tekkeon Rechargeable Battery
| 8. |
How do the batteries work? |
| |
TekCharge and myPower ALL batteries are rechargeable lithium polymer or ion batteries.
Before use, each battery must be charged using the included
power adapter (MP3450/MP3450i (R2)), your notebook
power adapter (MP3750), or your USB power adapter (MP1800/MP2250). Once charged, the battery is
connected to the 30-pin connector on your iPad using your iPad power cable. While the battery is connected to iPad, it powers
and charges your iPad, so it can be
used while its battery is being charged. All Tekkeon rechargeable batteries discharge power as they powers and charge, so
eventually must be recharged. |
| 9. |
What do I need to use my Tekkeon battery to power or charge my iPad? |
| |
In addition the battery and your iPad, you need your iPad power cable and USB power adapter (MP1800/MP220) or laptop power adapter (MP3750). |
